Getting another board, need some help!
« on: February 03, 2009, 11:53:52 PM »
I guess I should have said a 2nd board. I have a triton le76 and it has gotten a lot of "wear and tear" in the last couple years. I'm not really going for anything big something about $600. I'm trying to decide between the MM6 or the Roland Juno. Any advice would help, thanks.

neither. I'd get a roland XP-80/50 before any of those.

What do you do with the one you have?
What do you want the new one to be able to do?

I am keeping the le. I guess I just really want something different to take some of the "weight" off my other one. I came down to these two because I can get them from AMS (American Musical Supply) and make payments on it that are feasible for me right now! I've seen better reviews on the Juno-D than the MM6. But just wanted some input!

Bruh, she said she only wants to spend around $600.  :D

Actually, I found both a xp50 and 80 (also a xp30 and 10) but all were under $600. My problem with that is I don't have all $600 at one time so I am needing to make payments on it. American Musical Supply gives me that option. So unless the Lord shows up and really shows out these are my options right now! Yall pray that He shows up!!(lol)

How much is the financing fee or how long do they give you before they charge interest? If the financing isnt free or is high, then I would just stick with  the korg and save for a another board.

An XP10 should be no more than 200. XP80 -around 550-700. XP 30 and 50 should be in between, at like 400. I'm not sure if there is a 60, but I 'd try to get the best one you can afford. (higher number = newer)

I have an XP-10, i dont think i'd recomend it for you. The only thing I use it for is piano sound, the electric pianos and rhodes dont sound too good. The newer ones have better sounds and a lot more features.

If you do do decide to buy used, make sure you test it out for a few minutes and that everything works properly.

There is no finance charge. On both boards I would pay three payments of 199.95 (MM6) or 185.99 (Juno)They send it to me when I pay the first payment and I just pay the other two. These are not used. But the rolands are, so I still need to know if anyone can rate which one of the two would be a better buy!

i would go to  www.craiglist.com for your city, someone maybe selling either one of the boards for cheaper, also ebay is good. but if i had to choose, i would go with the MM6 the juno seems to me more like a synth for rock and pop music. just my two cents
