Before I got my blackberry, I used to chop up songs in my library with audacity and convert them to .amr with some freeware and send it to my phone via text with another freeware program. Once on the phone I saved them to the phone and used them as the ringtone. The converter is "Mobile Media Converter" and I used "Send to Phone" to text it to my phone. Most newer phones accept .mp3 or .wav files now. Find out if and what type of sound files you phone support and you can text them to you phone with "send to phone" if you have some way of hooking your phone up to your computer it will be easier. Best of all its all free (minus carrier cost of the text) and you can have any song you posses as your ringtone.
