IV9 Chromatic Movement - Preacher Chord Filler
« on: June 10, 2009, 02:01:06 PM »

Here's a simple filler for your preacher chords, when you're on the IV chord. I like to do most of my runs or fillers on the tonic or IV.

Key F#:

B-D#-A / D#-F#-A
C-E-Bb / E-G-Bb
C#-F-B / F-G#-B
C-E-Bb / E-G-Bb
B-D#-A / D#-F#-A
Bb-D-Ab / D-F-Ab

Play it straight through as triplets.

chromatic dominant chords, in triplets, got it, but Im trying to figure where would you have time to do this in preacher chords. But, Im not as skilled as I want on preacher chords yet, so that might be the disconnect

It might be a difference in style too.

I usually pause on the IV for 2 to 4 beats. That gives me enough time to do the triplets.
