Establishing Excellence

In everything we do, in ministry we have to create tone of excellence. Just like most Pastors and Ministers set the tone of excellence for there sheep. We as music directors and ministers of music have to set the tone for the music. Too often do we neglect to address issues that keep us from excelling. We let to many things slide and or go by the wayside in order to save face. Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zones and step on a few folks toes to establish excellence.

Many ask the importance of the Music Ministry. The Music Ministry prepares the heart of the worshipper and ushers in the presence of God. It engages and promotes the atmosphere of celebration and praise. It also is an tool that Encompasses and Encourages people to use and share their talents.

The most important part of Growth in a music ministry is the WORD. Sounds strange but knowing the word and studying the word will take your music ministry to the next level. Knowing the word will also set a tone of excellence. Because the Word establishes order.

As the director you have to make sure you have some type of Attendance Policy in place. Consistent attendance is a vital part of success.

Basic Choir Decorum should be in place so that we make sure that God is getting all the glory. Often to many times we have to much mess in our music ministries. The tone has to be set by the music minister being in line.

Some house keeping issues that tends to happen in a lot of churches, there should be no eating in the sanctuary and you do have mints they should  be out of the rappers so that audio technician doest hear rattling during the sermon.

Women should wear appropriate length skirts so that the deacons aren’t wondering what’s in the jeans lol. No sheer blouses or see thru, NO TIGHTS (those are for kids), no skorts, no splits to china.

What's wrong with skorts?

It's not a good look while ministering. Where a dress or flowing (see: NOT tight) skirt that comes to the knee, at least.
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.
