VST's.................
« on: July 21, 2009, 10:45:29 PM »
Whatcha runnin on your setup?  Always looking to learn about gear and software.

A few of my faves I'm using at the moment..........

The old Emagic EVP73 Fender Rhodes (my favorite)
NI B4II (You would swear I had a B3 in my bedroom it's so cold.)
Pro 52 and Pro 53 (Prophet 5 synth)
OP-X Pro (Oberheim OBX synth)
Edirol Orchestral
Arturia ARP 2600 & CS-80 synths
Juptetr 8 Demo
Minimoog V
Juno X2

and I just got hooked up with a ton of WAV file drums.

Safe to say I love old analog synths huh?

I've been coming up with some great tunes as a result of this stuff.  Hopefully some of it will be coming out within the next few months to a year as I get these done with the artists I'm working with.

Trilogy
Emagic EVP73
Hypersonic II
FM7

I got those too.  I love the FM7 and use it quite often.  I just love that old analog sound.  I don't use Trilogy as much as I used to because it is a CPU hog.  I just mainly used it before I bought my bass.  I got the Korg Legacy collection as well.  That MS-20 is the joint.  Just got Battery II as well for my drums.  That is a great host and is so easy to use.

That Emagic is the bomb-diggity.

I have to agree on all of that! I haven't use Battery although I do have it.  I Have to put Korg trilogy back on here. I haven't used it in years now, esp the MS-20. I used the FM8 today. I t has all the sounds from 7 and more! I don't use trilogy either. Emagic is just sweet!

Has anybody heard of EZ Drummer? I wanna get it so bad, because I've heard some very realistic arrangements done with it. If anybody has used it, is it any good?

I used to own/have TONS of vst's... Sampletank, Sonic Synth, B4, The Auturia Analog Package, Halion, Hypersonic, You name it, and I probably had it.

BUT, since I've moved to ProTools, I've found ALL I need within 5 rtas plugins. Velvet, XPand2, MiniGrand, Vacuum, and Structure... These are THEE BEST of The Best in my opinion...

BUMP.

What are some good free ones?

I've tried a few of the free ones, but most of them sound like trash.
