Does the Monster Bass cables make a big difference?

Yup. Some people say no, but I can tell a difference from when I use a cheap $10 cable versus my current cables. I haven't had any issues with my input jacks because I don't use barrell jacks neither.

BASSES:

From top to bottom:  Alembic Series I 4-string, Alembic Series II 5-string, Roscoe LG-3005 fretless
The Series II and the Roscoe are my primary church basses

From left to right:  1979 Music Man Sabre (sunburst), 1980 Music Man Sabre (ash)

Marchlewski 5 string.  This one also gets a lot of play at church, if I'm not playing the Alembic or the Roscoe.

RIGS:
Small Rig: MarkBass F1 and Korg DTR-1 tuner in a 2 space rack
Big Rig:    Crown xS500 power amp, Alembic F-1X preamp, and either the Korg DTR-1 tuner or an Alembic DS-5R power supply in a 4 space rack

CABS:
I leave an SWR Goliath Jr 2X10 at each of the two churches I play at.  I also have two SWR Triads at home that I take with one of the Goliath Jr.s for larger venues.

EFFECTS & OTHER:
Don't use effects that much, but I do have a board with Boss stomp boxes on it.  Chorus, Bass Synth, Compression, Limiter / Enhancer.
I have a Doctor Q Envelope Filter and a Dunlop Crybaby Bass Wah (can't remember last time I used it).
I have a ToneBone BassBone DI box.  I use either that or a Morley splitter when I want to alternate between two basses, especially with the Small Rig, because the MarkBass only has one instrument input.

Finally, I have been using a Korg Pandora PX3B practice tool for years.  I just replaced it with the PX5D which is even more capable than the PX3B.

Hey Malthumb, with the PX5D do the drum loops come by themselves or do they have a bass background with them?  Thats why I kept my old PX4B because the drum loops were just drums, as the next model had bass with the loops.

It says it has both, but I haven't tried that yet.

BTW - One of the reasons I picked it up is that Musicians Friend and Sam Ash are both pricing them at $179.99 and I just had my local Guitar Center match the price.  That and the fact that my PX3B is starting to get a little flaky.  I think I've had it for over 5 years of pretty heavy use.  Maybe longer.  Got it not long after they replaced the PX2B with the PX3B.  I've had a couple situations where it just shuts off as if the batteries are dead, even if it has fresh batteries or is running on AC.  It always comes back, but it will get really annoying if it starts happening more frequently, so I just replaced it.

Do you run the 2x10 & 1x12 together? If so how do you like the combination. I currently have an avatar B210 8ohm. I'm in between whether I should add a 1x12 or another 2x10 8ohm, so that I can get the full power from my Epifani PS400. I'm just not sure how the 2x10 & 1x12 combination sounds.

Yes, during gigs, I run them both together! They sound great when paired! I had a 1x15 at first but didn't like lugging that huge thing around. Sold it and bought the 1x12. I didn't lose much, if anything, in the low end or power handling. I use the 1x12 alone for rehearsals.
