"They That Wait" By Fre Hammond Featuring John P. Kee
« on: May 16, 2010, 08:31:50 AM »
Yaw this is Fred and John's new single called "They That Wait". This is one of the hottest songs out right now. Pretty soon it will be the song that many churches will put in there rotation. Kind of like "Blessed". LOL.  Anyway,  this song can only be done if all instruments are playing the right parts. The bassline is simple, real simple, but the claps and rythym makes this song. I not sure if I did it right but here is what I came up with.

They That Wait
I play a LTD ESP C-305 Bass

Nice!  I just played "Awesome God" from the same cd last night at a Gospel Extravaganza.

I bought the CD last week and it is stuck on #8 for sure! #2 is tight as well. I just ordered the song book from Ntime music as well... Yes sir....this is going to be a church favorite for a while.

Cordney, thanks for the comment. Yeah Awsome God is tight as well.
Bradley, thanks for the comment. The bassline sounds so complicated until you really sit down and transcribe it. If you are somewhat a busy player, you could be tempted to over play this song. But, its really that simple.  lol..lol.  I went to JP Kee's concert here in Greensboro, NC about 4 weeks ago and he did this song, and it sounded so much better than the CD.

The whole cd is tight...IMO.  I really like #4...Find No Fault.

Yep it was me. Here it is again. http://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/09e8580420b8000fad49cadf60e9dd57664a9932
The chart is playable, so even if you are challenged reading music, you can play it measure by measure, line by line. It's not a note for note transcription, but it was a good guide for me while I was learning the song.

I converted the chart to bass tabs. Let me know if it works.
