What's your signal path with this configuration?

What's your signal path with this configuration?

I think I was recording bass on this pic. So I was running

Bass to Art Tubepac preamp via 1/4"

Preamp to UCA-222 interface input via 1/4 out to RCA adapter

Preamp to Mixer via XLR to 1/4 TRS

UCA-222 Monitor out to mixer tape in via RCA cables

Then I just set my levels with the preamp into the interface, and monitor everything through the mixer. That way I can control the levels in my ear without disrupting the recording

Can you plug your bass in directly to the UCA or is a preamp needed?

You'll need some kind of preamp to bring your bass up to line level, since these don't have any internal preamp

Did you sneak into Jean Baudin's music room?  I'd recognize the Pacman Bass anywhere (obviously)

We have the Gospel Music Hangout where "Learn all about the "Building Blocks" of music and how to apply it. Forum for general music questions that apply to all instruments"

We also have Bass and Guitar Chords/Tabs Forum "A forum for members to REQUEST and submit bass and guitar chords/tabs."

Also we have the Bass Guitar room where you can ask specific questions about the bass guitar.

Problem is, that if you don't ask questions no one can answer them. The truth of the matter is the only real way to learn gospel music is to listen to it and practice it. The fundamentals of the instrument can and have been covered well on this site and all over the internet, but gospel is just way too diverse a genre of music to expect a site that can step by step show you have to play it. However there are more than enough individuals willing to help along the way, but you have to ask about what you need or are having trouble with.

As far as this thread it was inspired by the "bass photography" thread on talkbass.com. Its more of a pic whoring thread to. It wasn't mean to be a oohh look at how great my gear is, but people work hard and do a bunch of research putting their rigs together and it's nice to have a place to show what you have to other people that actually care, as most non-bassist really couldn't care less about bass gear.

While i can only speak for myself, but I have found this site very informative. I have learned and applied many things from this forum. Also, I find it interesting what others bass players are playing with. I take this not as a contest or bragging but simply as sharing. I have bought some of my gear strictly due to some fellow members pics or recommendations and couldn't be happier with the gear I have now. All this i have said is by now means to bash or put down others feeling or thoughts, just my opinion.

Actually it's not as complex as it looks.  Total of 8 knobs.  1 master volume, 1 neck pickup volume, 1 bridge pick up volume.  So that leaves 5 more.

1 is an on/off/ pickup selector.  So there are really only 4 knobs for tone shaping.  2 for each pickup.  1 sets the central boosting frequency for the low pass filter, the other sets the amount of boost.  Arguably, those could be stacked.

On the other hand, anything that needs 2 paragraphs to explain.........

By comparison, the Roscoe that's shown in the same picture LOOKS like it only has 4 knobs, but one is stacked, so that's 2 controls, and another is a push pull, so that's 2 controls.  Now that's a total of 6 control points and only one of them controls volume, so 5 different tone controls.  The Alembic has 4 tone controls.

Different approaches.
