I say yes, to my Lord!
I say yes, to my Lord!
He's done great things!
He's done great thing!
I say yes, yes, yes, to my Lord!
My FL sang this at a retreat in Seattle and I hadn't heard this in so long it was like a nostalgia/flashback feeling, lol.

Koda, that happens to be one of my old school faves. LOL! But yeah, good point.  :-\ :D :D

-------------------------------

I discovered between last night and tonight that Jamaicans just had the most "creative" songs (as depicted by Wolfie's video).  :D

Another one of my faves, which isn't that weird necessarily, but it was another instance where my friends and I sang the wrong words because we really didn't know.

Press along saints, press along in God's own way
Press along saints, press along, in God's own way
Persecution you must bare, trials and conflict all the day
De harder de battle de sweeter de victory!!

(We used to sing "de hotta de watah de sweeta de victory!")  And I'm still trying to figure out exactly what pressing along "in God's own way" means... lol

wow, i aint thought of that song in as we say, "Donkey Years".

In the mornin, When I rise
In the mornin, Ohhh when I rise

???? Okaaaay when you rise in the morning....what? Are you gonna eat breakfast, pray, clip your toenails? What? Lol I'm just j/k but kinda serious because when I hear the song, that's all they keep repeating LOL!

LOL

There are a lot of adlib parts to that song, you know.

"I'll put my war clothes on....when I rise"
"No more sickness, no more pain.....when I rise"

...but you know this already. ;) This is one of my favorite songs as well.

You must not be Apostolic for real... LOL. You know in the Apo church we sing "Lord I wanna rise holy (when I rise)" which really makes no sense since we are supposed to be singing about that "great gett'nup mornin" LOL

We sang it that way, too.  Actually that's the only adlib I remember on that song... Oh and "Oh, I want to see Jesus, when I rise..."  LOL!

Yes! I forgot that one!!! LOL!

Does anyone remember the song about dying? I can't remember how it went to save my life, but I can hear a little bit of the tune in my head.... and my mom won't answer her phone. I don't think it was a Jamaican song... It was something about kill me Jesus, slay me, crucify me every day... if I die every day one day I'll live again? Or something like that...

As a kid, that song scared the bejeezus out of me and I would refuse to say the words. LOL! Of course, I learned later that it was referring to killing the flesh. I remember asking my sister once how a person could die more than once, and I was shocked that she didn't know the answer. I thought she knew everything back then.  :D

"Lord I want somewhere...Lord I want somewhere...Lord I want somewhere to lay my head. Way over yonder, down by the riverside, Jesus is making up my dying bed."

We sing that song EVERY other sunday for devotion. I don't know why baptist folk love to sing about death and dying beds.

My friend Austin always says the same thing. He's hardcore Baptist, and he's always saying how Baptists go IN over death and heaven songs.

Have yall heard the song "Did he wash you in the washing machine?"

What Rue Rue? That's a true song. I wish I had a recording of it. I has the same feel as the song "My Body, Belongs to God."

Yeah, coincidentally, I saw the washing machine song on FB last night. Unbelievable.

Nessa, I vaguely remember that song, too. They used to go in on that one at my old church.

Yeah, but that's not the same song I'm talking about though. The song I'm talking about is actually more song worthy than that one Churchy posted.

Yeah, I never really got why they were always talking about morbid stuff like their tongue clinging to the roof of their mouth (does that even happen when you die?), and cooling boards, winding sheets, and the like... LOL!
