awesome god fred hammond bass run
« on: November 23, 2010, 06:01:47 PM »
So I've pretty much got the main portion of the song down, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what the bass run at the beginning of the song is  :-\. For those of you who don't know it:
Fred Hammond - Awesome God

Here is also a clip of some dude playing it, I think he's pretty close but with the people screaming and clapping it's hard to tell
Fusion Bass-est playing Fred Hammond Awesome God.

Any help is welcome and appreciated!

Sorry forgot to put in the time. It happens in the first video right at the 20 second mark.

That dudes approach is similar to mines. What I did with this song was slow the track down to its slowest haha. What impressed me though was the clear tone of Snoops warrior being able to still hear the clear exact note he was hitting at such a slow speed. Try it yourself.
Anyways heres my approach to it after a long time figuring it out.
Note: Bigginners way of explaining it

Key of C

b10-10-11-b10-8-b7-5-6-8-b7-9-8-5-6-8-5~6

Notice the sign ~ on the last two notes? Thats Hammering on but as an option,You can also hammer on the same sets of notes (5~6) but for the other two times used as well as the last. Hope that makes sense

Stay Blessed :)

May I add. The SECOND TO LAST note has been added by me so remove that from the Run. .So remove the 5th from the run but still hammer-on on the other 5~6 to make things easier

I use Amazing Slow Downer...it's real good!  That run took forever to learn...sad part, I still mess it up every now and then.

Start the 1st note on the G string and you will know the other accessable notes from there. The whole run only uses the lower 3 strings(A,D,G) unless ur a 6er
