Sax mute or wah-wah?

I was listening to an old Jazz Crusaders tune in the car(70's ?).

It sounded like the mute like a trombone player would use;but electrified.I sort of remember Selmer(?) made a sax/horn processor in that time frame;but that's it.

Any ideas?
