Awe Brother Brown we lost.  Since I had no vested interest your team had become my team.  The Royals still had a phenomenal year.  Hopefully it wasn't a one time thing and the guys will become more hungry in the future.

Okay so I've grabbed me a new pickup selector switch (instead of a prewired pickguard like I had considered years ago).

Basically I'm wanting to make it a Master Volume, Neck Tone, Middle+Bridge Tone setup. But i realized that doing this will change the way the bridge+middle position sounds when adjusting the knob, because it will be bringing down the bridge and middle and not just the middle..

Can anyone just give me an idea of how significant the effect will be and just give me a general description of how it would sound compared to the original "vintage" wiring setup?

You mean to tell me......that you actually USE your tone knob?  Wow; you're an amazing man.  For most of us, the tone controls are basically decorations  :).
