CS: Kinda mad, maybe a bit frustrated.

In one of my classes, there are 14 people. I'm one of 4 who speaks perfect or near-perfect English and uses proper grammar 99% of the time or better. I'm not brilliant by any account, but if I had to rank everyone in class, I would place myself in the top 5 students in the class. Those 4 of us who use correct English are usually the ones who get the most replies to our assignments and get all the "well said" replies.

So WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY does this professor (who, by the way, DOESN'T USE PROPER ENGLISH and always has spelling, syntax, grammatical, and typographical errors) keep giving me a 23 out of 25?? Ugh. I'm getting annoyed. His syllabus says that we'll be graded on answering each part of each question, replying to at least 2 posts, grammar and spelling, content, posted on time, and at least 150 words. I do all that. Each week. And he keeps giving me a 23. That's a 92, which is NOT a 4.0. Furthermore, if I'm getting a 23, what on earth are these other folks getting?

I haven't. I thought about it after the first 23. Then last week, he gave me another 23 and I'm like... WTHeck???? I really feel like going off on him because I'm already not happy to have someone with poor grammar grading me on my grammar. But yeah, I'll ask him....

It's actually Five Star Marketing Solutions. I support them because they do excellent work and they are Christian-owned.

Come to think of it, I know of another phenomenal designer, who is NY-based and Christian. I forget the name of his company, but he does a lot of work for a lot of big wigs and his stuff is TOP NOTCH for real. I can't remember the name of the company, but I can inbox you his name and you can find him on FB if you want.

Some professors still make you go above and beyond for a 4.0. :-/

Same here. Those prices made me cringe. There's 25,000 students on campus...one of them has to know how to design a professional web page.

Hmmmm really?? I'll send an inbox and see if I can find out what the problem is.

I remember years ago when I was having my site built, I found a designer through another church. He had done their site, and when I looked at his website, I learned that he had done lots of high-profile church sites. Since my target audience was the church community, I thought he'd be perfect. I paid $6000 and it came out nice, but I did almost all the work. I didn't know anything abt web design so I pretty much got had. :D Well not really, but still.....

That awkward moment when your post can really fit in more than one thread.... :-[

Anyway, this isn't a snobby post, but it really just crossed my mind. I think it's very sad that many black women don't feel pretty/sexy/beautiful without having their hair relaxer-straight. That's really sad to me.
