I am very interested in your lessons. I currently play at my church on sundays, with Keyboard player feeding me the Numbers as you do in your videos for songs I havent learned yet. I really need to work on filling the spaces between the chord changes. I think my timing is one of my strong points

I'am also very interested in your lessons. As I have stated before I need to work on my shout music. I am benefiting from everything you put up. You are a good teacher I like the way you break things down.

Like gruvn_low i to need help with filling the spaces. I know we can use the 5th and the octave but it sometimes does not sound compatible when i use them.

This is not a bass lesson just a short video that i made about two years ago!... I could make this a lesson, i could ask you to describe what you hear me playing...a scale pattern,a blues pattern, rock pattern a 1 going to the 6 progression,  a 1 going to the b5 progression etc...  ?/?

arthur59, out of curiousity,  what fingering do you use for the examples that you gave?  Or as a rule?

Starting with middle finger.

6   7-8
3-4   5
   1   2

or  7-8
   4   5   6
1   2   3     Starting with the pointer finger

Or anther pattern?

when I'm teaching someone the major scale i tell them to learn it in one position first, same thing when playing by numbers. The finger pattern start with your middle finger (2) the pattern is:   2- 4 next string 1- 2- 4 next string 1- 3- 4  this pattern works for all the major scales.

Hey gruvn-low this is an example of exercise 1 ( 1-4-5-2-3-7-6-1) above the 12th fret and below the 12th fret @ 120 bpm, in the key of Bb. excuse the string buzzing. Right know I just want you to get used to playing the intervals (numbers) then later we'll deal with adding notes (numbers) to the progressions.
