Some more familiar artists are doing this too... Mali Music and Lecrae come to mind.  Lecrae doesn't seem to have compromised anything, and people in general seem to love his music, even though it's about Jesus.  I know some people get hung up on whether he says Jesus a lot... I don't know if every song has to say Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...  I think when you consciously avoid saying Jesus to avoid losing sales, that's when it's a problem for me.  But only God knows if that's the case or not.

Hmmm....now this an interesting development.  Folks; none other than the Purple One himself will be covering the song "What If" by Nichole Nordeman!  Didn't see that one coming.

Prince and 3rdEyeGirl released an electric guitar-heavy cover of Christian singer-songwriter Nichole Nordeman's "What If"

You know, it amazes me how CCM went from reaching near arena-rock status to being nearly forgotten by those who helped it reach the level of success that it had achieved.  A lot of the creative works of these artists are largely ignored these days.

Here's Michael W. Smith from back in the day (1993) live in concert.  Looks like it was a good time.

New from Toby Mac:

Feel It

Just got a crazy idea.  What do you all think of a documentary chronicling the history of CCM?  Should I open a Kick Starter account?

This morning, I was listening to this song after many years and actually paid attention to the lyrics.  Funny how an old Christian pop song can speak to you on a certain level...I guess as life goes on, we go through different seasons in our faith and it can feel challenging at times to maintain the same level of passion as when we first started this walk.  Sort of a different take on the old standard "Take Me Back"...

I have some not so good news to share regarding Jay Weaver of the group Big Daddy Weave.  Jay is the bass player and younger brother the band's front-man Mike Weaver and has been battling a very serious leg infection.  Unfortunately, in order to save his life, both of his feet had to be amputated and he is still not out harms way yet.  Please visit the link below if anyone would like to support Jay and his family during this difficult situation:
