Renting U-Haul Storage Area for Practice Space
« on: December 16, 2012, 09:53:57 PM »
Recently I moved my drums to a U-Haul sotrage area with the intent of practicing. Someone is moving into my 2nd BR so I moved the drums out. The spaced is 5x10 and I will pay the extra $10 for 24hr access. It's indoors and is climate-controlled. When I rented the space a week ago, I didn't tell them I intended to come in and play/practice. I did a little research online and discovered other musicians (even bands) have also rented storage space. What are your thoughts? Has anyone here rented a space? If so, how did you muffle the sound? If/When I practice, it will during non-office hours.

Note: The cost is around $100 a month...this is being passed on to the new roommate, so I will be reimbursed monthly.

I've heard people doing that early in the morning when helping people move before. I'd say get a good electronic set if you are going to pay that. By the end of the year you will have pretty much purchased one.  :)
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.
