Talk music theory

Hello I'm wondering if there are any organist or keyboardist that could tell me how they come up with the progressions they do for talk music and for worship chords.

Either take them (slowly) from a song you know, or make up your own...

I play songs. I used to play random chords but I like songs better. You can minister to people that way, but the right placement in the service is necessary, You dont want to take away from who is speaking. I do like Josh and play bits and pieces of songs mixed in with random chords or musical themes. This is also a time I may work on throwing in scales with my playing or some practice pattern. :) I also listen to what is being said. If the speaker mentions a song I sometimes start to play it.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

I usually start out with a slow 1-3-2-5-1 progression, then go from there. If whoever is speaking mentions a song, or lyrics from a song I'll start playing that otherwise I usually just hit random chords. I also like to do stuff like what's in the video below.
