my question is once u learn an advanced chord or any chord....whats the best way to learn to apply it to your playing or how can you recognize those chords in songs or progressions

no its just I have a chord book, im trying to change my style up but I don't know how to apply like the 13ths 9ths 11ths so forth and so on, I don't know how to create drops, runs, harmonics, progressions, nothing smh...I feel stuck and it sucks
