Hey FunkStrat, Sorry to bother you, but I have tried these chords and something doesn't sound right. Could you post where on the guitar you are playing these? A video would be really helpful if possible. Thank you.
I'll try and see if I can get a video. In the Key of F# you have:
I. F# Major/Ionian
II. G# minor/Dorian
III. A# minor/Phrygian
IV. B Major/Lydian
V. C# Major/Mixolydian
VI. D# Minor/Aeolian (natural minor)
VII. E# Diminished/Locrian
It's been a while since I've played it, but there a couple of things that I tend to do. Namely, I almost always play a minor 7th chord vs. a straight minor. Why? Because it's easy. In this particular example, the change from G# minor to B major only requires the bass to change from G# to B. The underlying triad stays the same. I'll re-examine it and see what's up.
