Original Yamaha Motif vs. Yamaha MO Series
« on: December 18, 2005, 11:32:37 AM »
I wanted to see what anyones take was on the new Yamaha MO series? I have a budget of 1,200 for a new keyboard, and I wanted to get a 61 key of either one of these two modles. I've played the orginal Motif, and it's nice, but I haven't had the chance to mess around with the new MO? Hook it up with some opinions, before I got and make a big expense. Thanks!

It has the same layout as the motif, same sounds and everything. It is more geared to helping you create contempory sounds and music so alot of the extras the motif has are not on here. Sound quality is just the same as well as the feel of it.

Here is a comparison of the 3 you would want to look at.

I personally want the S90ES, it is exactly the same as the Motif but without the harddrive. It has the same layout as well. They all share the same technology just each one has a little less than the other. My computer and keyboard are next to eachother and I do not need a workstation synth, I just want an awesome sounding synth. I found a place to get the S90ES for 1800.00 and free shipping.

Has anyone tried the Organ sounds on the MO? I've played around with the Motif sounds and it very nice, just want to see how close the sound comes to? Thanks.

Remember that the Mo6 comes from the Motif-es not original motif. So the the MO6 has a better sounding quality than the original motif. I use a motif-es in my church and the organ sounds are pretty good. I have messed around with the original motif in guitar center and I also like the organs in that keyboard too.

Let you ears do the deciding. :D
