1. TYE
2. DOOBIE
3. KIM
4. JAMES HALL
5. MYRON BUTLER & TONEX

AFTER MAKING THAT SHORT LIST OF 5 FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, I STILL REALLY CAN'T SAY. I GUEST THATS WHO I'M REALLY LISTEN TO RIGHT NOW.

AS FAR AS MALE VOCALISTS I GOTTA GIVE IT TO J MOSS FOR REALLY PUTTIN OUT THAT FIRE ALBULM BUT TONEX IS JUST ALL AROUND A RANGE SINGER. NOT SAYING THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH USING A VOCODER BUT TONEX NEVER USE ONE AND DONT NEED TO.

innovator is a big word or title please use it wisely

Why not cause they each have brought somethin REALLY different to the     .  And they have distinstive sounds.  On the real, even though a lot of cats out there are blazin and settin fire,  a lot of them all are after that same sort of contemporary choir/ensemble sound..  Dont nobody sound like James, Fred or Tye and If they do sound like them,  then they must be real new.

i think all those you mentioned added something to gospel but innovator means like you created something new from scratched im one of the biggest fans ever of james hall music but i do know his stuff is jazz with words and he has said that himself but the point is before there were others doing the same style right there in brooklyn, ny so thats what i mean by innovator is a big word i dont its hard to explain im not downing anybody for thier choices

Okay then.  If they aren't innovators then they are BIG TIME      changers.  Don't even front.  When you here them they make you go practice.  In fact, James Hall and the Voices of Citadel are gonna be in the 'cuse tonight.  I'm gonna go here them then practice at like 3 in the morning.

my opinion:

1. richard smallwood- 2 words- "Total Praise" ( you gotta admit that this man is on a different plateau when it comes to all of his music arrangements, you just gotta respect him for where his head when it comes to arranging music)
2. tonex ( even though his is retired, the man's vocal capability is crazy! Not to mention the "out the box" project was tight.
3. tye tribbett ( i'm really feelin the "victory" project)
4. Donnie McClurklin ( this man has paid his dues, i'm talkin all the way back to the NY restoration choir-"Speak to my heart")
5. kim burrell (i've seen her live.....WOW)

Rance Allen - Worship, Praise, Ministering and definitely killin' the keys since he was a youngin'!

Marvin Winans - What more can you say!!

Kirk - Genius!  Did anyone foresee this when he was directing/playing for the DFW Mass Choir.

Tye - Their vocals are always on point.  Soundcheck - Collectively, very cohesive and have good chemistry.

Richard Smallwood - Anthems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
