I have been asked to accompany a soloist on this song. But I don't have a clue. I have listened to the song several times and I think that it is sung in the key of 'C' with some augmentation going on but I don't know for sure. I am having a hard time of writing the chords for a song. It is hard for me to separate the lyrics from the music. This song is an old song, therefore there are no chord sheets or tutorials out there. I would like to know how to play this song in a Db key since most of my songs are played in that key. Can someone heed my cry for help?
Please help me with this song and teach me how to write chords from the songs I hear. If it is not too much to ask, would you please explain chord accompaniments.
The song can be found at the following YouTube Link: Open Our Eyes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxLM73TyYIE#)
In the Name of Jesus, I humbly thank you.

Valeden, if I could help you with this song, I surely would. But It would take me too long to learn it and put it to chords. I will say, though, to learn it, you have to discount all the "fluff" that is being played, and listen to the basic progressions(changes). The fluff, and there is a lot of it, can be added back as desired. There are those here who can just listen to a song and write down the chords. I don't have that skill. Listen close and pick out the basic chord changes. I say again and very important, don't be deterred by all the extra stuff that is being played. It's nice, but not essential when learning the song.

Thank you so much berbie for responding to my request. Yes, I do think that it is the fluff that confuses me. I spend a great deal of time attempting to figure out all of the trills and other fillers and then I find that I can't hear the major chords. Now, I will concentrate only on the major chords and follow your advice on filling in the fluff later.
Thank you for your response.
Be Blessed,
