Got one for ya Uriah.
« on: April 26, 2005, 04:46:11 PM »
I don't know if you take requests but there is one riff that I have yet to be able to get ever since I have heard it.

It is on Israel & New Breed - Come in from the outside.  In the intro to that song Terrence does this slap / thump within the first few measures.  There are no discernable notes only a thump rythym that he does.  I have tried for many an hour to get it but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.  I can do variations of it but cannot capture what he is doing.
Most of the times I have to picture what the player is doing but this time I can't.  Its like MY rythym is off or something.

Do you think you might be able to do a video breaking it down for me.  :?:
Forgive me if this is something you would only do in a private lesson, which I am currently trying to get kitchen clearance, my wife, to do.

Thanks for the input lildrumma.

I think I understand.  I mean it's like a drum beat pattern.  By the way I can't play the drums at all so that works against me when trying to play rythyms sometimes.

I was actually playing higher on the neck around the 7th - 9th frets.  I can see where the tones would sound better lower on the neck.

Thanks again.

Uriah if I would have thought about it I would have included a sound clip of it.....sorry.
