Try a muffler too; it worked for me. I use Evans E-Rings on all my drums, 'cept the bass.

I use the Aquarian as well. It has some ring but not bad. Actually, on my chrome snare I like to have a little ring. PT.

evans makes a really good muffled called the genera. it has a really thin ring around the underside to control the sound. it sounds awesome and really tightens the sound.....

I just put a powerstoke 3 batter head on my kick, its a really good head, but i havn't tried ps3's on toms or snares though

I use the Aquarian Hi-energy head and it really minimizes the overtones!
