Hi Ced43,
You can learn how to play either by ear or by reading music.  It's probably best if you start by reading music and working on music theory.  Once you know the basics and get familiar with the different keys in music, then you should start playing by ear.  It's the little things that you learn that will help you grow.  Good luck with learning how to play.  I'll talk to you later.
