Practice theories ?
« on: January 19, 2005, 01:28:49 PM »
Does anyone have a legitimate practice routine that is designed to improve your playing? I know everyone says to practice everyday and I definitely make it a point to do so. But how do I maximize each practice session so that I can progress naturally in my playing. Thanks for your input.

You should practice chord progressions in every key, every day. practice:

D/FACE
G/FABE
C/EGBD

then go up a half step till you have gone through all 12 keys.

also practice

D/CEFA
G/BEFA
C/BDEG

going up a half step through all 12 keys.

This may seem hard at first, but once it becomes easier, you will find your playing has become much better.
