well, if you're looking for good piano and organ sounds, check out the Nord Electro, comes in 61 and 76 keys, and has good rhodes sounds too, mainly keyboard type sounds.  great action too.
Thanks for letting me hang with you guys!

If you need a workstation, you have enough to buy a Motif ES.
It's worth checking out.  I have a Motif Classic 61, and I love the organs
and pianos... but it all depends on what you plug them into.

God bless,

Well I played on 3 keyboards that I really liked. They are Yamaha SO3 synth,  The Alesis QS6.2, and Roland Juno-D 61 keys synth.  And all 3 of these boards are under 2500.

im planning on buying a motif  ES8   here in a couple of weeks . I was wondering while im at home and practicing does this have to be plugged into a amp in order to play. or is it like a regular keyboard where I dont have to plug in.  this will be my 1st major purchase for a keyboard, im used to playing ones that are allready set up in a church, so im not sure what all I need to get a great sound

Sorry, I'm a Roland lover myself  :D . But here are the few boards that I think would be best.

Roland RD-700
Roland XP-80
Yamaha Motif ES-7

blessme,

You don't have to have an amp at home... you can use headphones with the Motif.  But if you need to do some mixing or something, you'll of course need some monitors.

HTH,

God bless,

One of the BEST organ sounds I have ever heard from a keyboard was the KORG Triton.  It actually sounded like an old beat up B3.

And you could layer a piano with that.  Hit a button and the Leslie would switch on and wind up.

They are normally about $3800.  Get one on sale and it may be around $2500.  Or used.  :)
