Hello from DC
« on: June 28, 2005, 11:12:05 AM »
Hello just found this site last week....You guys have alot of knowledge about the importance of Praising GOD with the oldest instrument created   (the drum). I'd just like to say it's good to join your family. My name is Eric, been playing drums for 20 years. I've shared the stage with many artists that have come to DC, Kirk, Walter Hawkins, Richard Smallwood The late Donald Vails...and many others. I now play at Reid Temple AME Church in Glendale MD..about 30 min outside of DC where I am a member. One of my favorite drummers that I love is rarely mentioned here is Jay Jay Williams. The original master of phat pockets here in the DC Area.  Jay Jay is also on the musician staff at our church and is also the drummer for Will Downing.

I do hope to hear from many of you. Oh and my favoites in case you want to know are Jeff Davis, Jay Williams, Aarron Spears, Buggy, McQuitty, Ricky Sugarfoot Wellman, Kevin Jackson to name a few.
Love peard Drums and Zildjian Cymbols....A and K customs are off the chain!!! I love Zildjian so much, my 3 year old Mickhia's name is "Zildjia" sounding like (Zilyae')...be blessed....

Yo what's up ET. I'm originally from DC. I'm down here in Florida going to school. You said you played at Reid Temple. Is that church in Lanham, Md? If so my godbrother use to play at that church every now and then. You said one of your favorite drummers was Buggy. Which one? Buggy (Corey Baker) or Buggy (Ronald Woods). Anyway, Buggy (Ronald Woods) is my godbrother and he's crazy on set. Just want to know if you're talking about him.
My goal as a musician is to be better than myself.

Yeah, that's Corey Baker. He was down here a couple of years back with a group he plays for called Anthony Brown and Anwered Prayers. He's crazy. He plays bass and keys doesn't he?

Now Drumology which Buggy are YOU talking about. You said Buggy and Corey so do you mean Buggy (Ronald Woods) or did you make a mistake and said Buggy and Corey... one in the same person?

The reason why I asked is because I know that there are two Buggies and I know that they call Corey Baker Buggy too.
