Here are the names of the drawbars:
1. Sub-Fundamental Harmonic-one octave below the fundamental.
2. Sub-Third Harmonic, i.e., one octave and a fifth above the sub, thereby the name "sub-third"
3. Fundamental, or first Harmonic; also called 8'.
4. Second Harmonic-one octave above the fundamental.
5. Third Harmonic-one actave and a fifth above the findamental.
6. Fourth Harmonic-two octaves above the fundamental.
7. Fifth Harmonic-two octaves and a third above fundamental.
8. Sixth Harmonic-two octaves and a fifth above the fundamental
9. Eighth Harmonic-three octaves above the fundamental.
So what you're doing is mixing in harmonic content. The best way to understand them is to play with them and see what sounds you like.
- I use 888000000 the most when playing with the Worship Team at church. It is a mellow backing sound that can growl as the volume increases.
- 888000008 is called a "whistle stop" (I stole this from Jimmy Smith)
- 888888888 is full organ, I use this on the choruses to many songs (888000000 on the verses)
