What a great site you have Sister T I've got so much to learn from it. I plan to have lessons but i want to get myself to a decent basic level b4 I go to the teacher. Can you experienced guys tell me what you think or what else I could add. I know that there are certain things which you would wish a beginner could get the hang of b4 they come to you.
Im going to learn to play all the major scales, with both hands at the same time
Im going to be able to play the 1,4,5 and 2,5,1 in all the keys, using Hammondmans 1,5 base in the left hand. Im gonna start with single notes in the right hand then move to triads then inverted 7th chords in the right hand.
Im gonna understand the circle of keys alot better and learn how to transpose.
Im gonna be able to play "Jesus I love you" in atleast two keys.
Im gonna practise B3's handspeed drills as often as I can and Hammondmans walks.
by march I should have these under my belt. Im kinda happy as I've got you guys in my corner, and the christmas holiday is coming up so no university (you guys call it college) so many hours of practise shall be carried out.
Im then gonna start taking lessons
