If y'all really wanna hear some cats killin' some Jazz Fusion..pick up some of the old Weather Report cds...Joe Zawinul (keys) Jaco Pastorius 'the great one' (bass) Peter Erskine (drums) Wayne Shorter (sax)

Also pick up some Return to Forever  ...you'll really hear how far u can go with this thing we call 'MUSIC'

I'm new to Jazz (couple of years listening) but I have to agree Jaco was awsesome. I have one of his cd's and it is unreal what he does on that bass. Bringing it current, one of my favorites is Marcus Miller.

Does Latin Jazz count?  I recently started listening to it and I'm crazy about Chucho Valdez right now.
