LOL good question, but everyone is going to say HAMMOND.............. I have a hammondXK-3 and I love it..............I've played on a few consol organs like Baldwin,Yamaha Electone, and Lowrey.  I cant stand those tones...........LOL, everytime I tried to play a soulful groove I would get a light acoustic CHEESY sound from them. But there are other organs out there that I'm sure can make a GOOD gospel root sound...............

any Hammond tonewheel drawbar organ. I like to fool around with the Cheesy farfisa, vox, and Elka organ from the 70's too.

It's not an organ if it's not Hammond!!!  LOL, seriously...The original B-3 is the way to go!!!  I've played on the XB-3 for a while but it's just not the same.  The feel and action is generic and the sound is not as authentic.  You may as well hook up a midi to a casio!

~B3 baby!

God Bless!!!

In a perfect world every church would have a well maintained B-3.

Since it isnt perfect, l also like A-100's  I've never heard one that i didnt like.  I also love Diversi organs

Hammond B3, C3, and A100 are good for me. When our C3 was being rebuilt, we were loaned an A100 and it sounds just like a B3/C3, just different construction and the internal speakers. I've never used a B3 but I'd imagine it's as good as a C3.

When I'm at home, I have a Roland VK-8M organ module connected to a Casio WK-3500. It works well. The organ sound is outstanding and that's including the leslie sim. I am planning sometime to get a 13-note foot pedal so I can play like I do at church. I use a Yamaha FC7 expression pedal as well. So basically I own a poor man's B3/C3.

I have a Hammond D at my house with a Leslie 122. The Hammond D is the same as a Hammond CV but it has another drawbar at the top right where the start button is on the C3. In that area the drawbar that pulls out can give you more chorus. I love that organ like crazy cause it's so churchy!!!!!!!

I'll have to go with a C-3. B-3s don't do much for me; it is like a "coffin on legs."
