Lol @ That...I can't stand when another church comes and they don't bring their musicians..BUT they ask you if u can play an A,B & C selection for their choir...smh..I also hate playing at 'SAD' funerals..they want u to play that old slave, underground railroad music...I would rather play something uplifting and happy sounding ...it is a HOMEGOING PEOPLE...they're going to Heaven (i hope) ..I can't stand when my organ has malfunctions ...i.e. The drawbars and footpedals go in and out during service..my C, F and Ab were recently out ...smh

I dont play organ but I play the keyboard. The one thing I hate in a church service is when the praise team tells me to play the song as they are getting up. Sometimes they already be up but testimonies are being told (testimonies happen rarely at our church). I go ahead and play the song but the people be about to shout. About 2 min later they start shouting and I start playing the shout. They get mad at me and ask me why I stopped playing the song!!! I was like what the!!!!

1. visiting a church and playing something other than a hammond or diversi
2. a visiting church doesnt bring musicians, and you dont know their songs, and everybody looks at you like you suck.
3. having to sing harmony at the same time
4. Like someone welse said, when someone starts off a song, and u find them in F...then once u find them, they go to A??  How does that happen?!  well it happened to me 2 weeks ago
5. Other than that, i love playing

I really hate it when I'm playing a song in a certian key and my fellow musician starts playing it along with me but in the wrong key. To make matters worse, his keyboard sits far away from me and when I'm trying to tell him that he's playing in the wrong key, he can't read my lips. He's still a little tone-death.

I also hate it when I'm playing some soft meditation chords at prayer time (just before the service) and one of my fellow musicians come in late and joins in with me, but cranks up his volume. And all the while, he keeps cutting those sneaky eyes over at me, because he knows exactly what he's doing. We must be sensitive to the spirit and know when to play soft or loud! Sometimes we travel a rough road as musicians!

I remember one time the praise team was doing praise and worship and they asked me did I know this old hymn I was like no. I told them dont do it, but anyway she did it (very stubborn and acts like she owns us). She went to like 8 different keys on that song. She was so embarrassed because the rest of the praise team couldnt find what key she was in either she just sang by herself that night and she was cracking up and everything everybody just stared at her and was like OH MY GOD!!!

This passed Sunday we were in a highhhhhhhh praise so they told me to play I Love You Lord ( And I lift My Voice). I started playing like 2 min before they came in to keep the people in their worship trans while the praise team was pumping and primeing. So this same lady from the story above comes in, she came in brought the tempo down 2x and brought song all the way down I was like she really needs to start counting!!! I was so pissed. I know she heard me playing that song and she just come in the middle of it and mess the song up like that. She did it on purpose because she looked at me when she did it. No matter what song, what key, or how you playing or ,what tempo you playing at she will mess you up in the middle of the song just to have it her way.

I've had this experience and after a while the organ was raggedy from having been beat up so bad.  Pedals loose, pedals and notes not playing, etc.  Why do they feel they have to play it so rough?  :?  Maybe they just get caught up in the moment.

1. When a guest church comes and doesn't bring their organist and  the preacher changes keys a lot.

2.  When wants to play a song with me and doesn't know it (that person is always playing the loudest making us all look bad).

3.  When some else messes up and tries to blame me.

4.  When some gets upset with me because I don't know every song they ever heard on the radio.

5.  When some one sings a song and doesn't know or when I'm singing or playing a song and someone get in the mic singing all loud a bunch of wrong words and melodies (Brown said sing with me if you know it and know it when you sing with me).
