Is that the new "two-finger" Hanon series for people who can't touch-type?  :D

Sorry dude, could not resist.

Hey! Don't laugh! I've seen some people play with two fingers!

Anyway, I'm sure you meant "hands". I have a few Hannon books. Just follow the books they work. It's working for me. I just have to practice it more.

OK, sorry.

I've got the book as well, and am going through it. I find it quite useful. Also, it was a reminder of the fact that reading music is an important skill that I need to develop....

They're good but it's important not to spend to much time to excercieses. It's good to balace out your practice time. But Hannons and Czerny's are great. Once you're finished move on to art tatum and charlie parker transcriptions.

Also let me add is that with the Hanon excerises it is always good to practice thethem in every key. Now if you have the complete book of Hanon excerises and you diligently complete them all cover to cover in every key you won't have any difficulty playing any type of music, level of difficulty etc. You spend a year faithfully in that book people will notice the difference in your playing, you'll notice the difference. What will also help you is learning all your scales in every key, starting with the major and 3 different minor scales for starters. Then you can learn all the major and minor modes and other altered, blues, pentatonic, whole tone, etc. the more advance scales in every key. While you're learning your scales learn your chords and their arpeggios. Do that and the advice that everyone else gave you will be an awesome musician in the Kingdom of God doing spiritual warfare, praise and worship with your fingers and hands skillfully and cunningly in a spirit of excellence unto Him. Praise God!  :)

Go with the junior hannon, the exercises are cut in half and 8th notes are substituted for 16teenths making it look less difficult but it still the same and the hands are only 2 octaves apart.

Good for a beginner to the hannon exercises.
