Anyway, Chris is one of the hardest jazz and funk drummers out there. At the same time, there are plenty of drummers out there who have Dennis Chambers head spinning. I am from Baltimore and Dennis is not the hometown hero that everyone thinks he is. We have plenty of drummers who are faster or more diverse than him. He is just popular. Come to Baltimore and you will find out. As for saying that nobody is seeing Chris, I can give you a list of players that are on his level at the least. Of course most gospel drummers are not seeing him when it comes to musical expression because they are limited. We have to understand that Chris is not a gospel drummer. Chris is a world class drummer who happens to be on a few gospel projects. Trust me, I know!! Chris is one of my top 5 drummers when it comes to musical expression. He is truly dedicated to the mastery of his instrument. If you guys want to put it on the competition level remember this...The world is much bigger than NY, Baltimore, L.A., Texas or the USA in general.

Chris "Daddy" Dave is the most overlooked gospel drummer today because he has evolved through Jazz and Fusion.  He will literally pick the majority of mainstream gospel drummers today apart.  Check him out on Jazz saxophonist Kenny Garretts'(NOT KENNY G! ) album entitled, "Happy People".  Until you've heard this album, you aint heard or seen nothing yet.  This is the potential that ALL CONSITENT, DILLIGENT, and HARDWORKING GOSPEL DRUMMERS POSSES! 8)

Hey My fellow drummers. If you want to hear Chris Daddy Dave, get the first Kim Burrell Album (TRY ME AGAIN!). On the first track he starts with a blazing single stroke roll on snare, He is definately one of my influences.GOD BLESS YOU ALL and keep drumming for GOD

I used to live in Baltimore years ago at 1508 W. Lafayette and went P.S. #95 then moved back up to Philly/New Jersey area.
Who are some of the other drummers in Baltimore doin it.

Jarod Barnes (Sisqo, Dru Hill, Isley Brothers, Patti Labell, Macy Gray and many others). Marvin Hammet was doing Britney Spears for a few years. Now Teddy is doing that gig. John Thomakos (he has some books out and gigs too much).

These are a few off the top of my head from Baltimore that are out there.

Chris conquered his own ability

I've seen a tape of chris at the underground in new york, Nobody in the world!! plays like this guy, I've meet him and he is really humble and cool, the reason he is so Good and unordinary is because he stretches his ability and his style, if you get the understanding of that then you can be that good too

God Bless!!!

Chris Dave has become almost mythical. You hear all of these great stories about what he does outside of the studio .... but you never, ever get to see them...

WHY DON'T SOMEONE JUST SHOW US ONCE AND FOR ALL?!?!
