Here are the scales: (Also the circle of 5ths format)

C = C D E F G A B C
F = F A G Bb C D D E F (1 flat)
Bb = Bb C D E F G A Bb (2 flats)
Eb = Eb F G Ab Bb C D Eb (3 flats)
Ab = Ab Bb C Db Eb F G Ab (4 flats)
Db = Db Eb F Gb Ab Bb C Db (5 flats)
Gb = Gb Ab Bb Cb C Db Eb F Gb (6 flats)
B = B C# D# E F# G# A# B (5 sharps)
E = E F# G# A B C# D# E (4 sharps)
A = A B C# D E F# G# A (3 sharps)
D = D E F# G A B C# D (2 sharps)
G = G A B C D E F# G (1 sharp)

This is something every beginner should have in the front of their music notebook.  :D

Greetings to you Joy!  I've been playing off and on for years and was never taught theory so anything I get from this website blesses me!  I am also encouraged when I see more women that play too!

Blessings to you!

How do I detemine the difference between Cmaj and Amin if neither note is used more then the other and there is no chords above the Treble clef? Or is it just not important?

In C major, C is the tonic. In A minor, A is the tonic. While you're playing in A minor you shouldn't be playing a melody with chords that overall feel like they're trying to resolve to C, which is the 3rd of the A minor scale. That's a simple difference, yet technically difficult to pull off if you're not concentrating. Likewise, while playing in C, you shouldn't be playing a melody that feels like it's trying to resolve to A, which is the 6th of the C major scale.

I want to add that songs in minor keys tend to be sad, soft or mellow. I've don't know of any songs played in minor keys that are bright and happy, but that's based on my limited experience. Songs in major keys are not necessarily mellow or sad but can be. For example, "Lately" by Stevie Wonder is written in a major key yet comes across as sad to me. Go figure.

There are a few errors.

The F scale says " F A G" instead of "F G A" (and 2 D's)

The Bb scale has "E" and not "Eb"

The Gb scale has "Cb" and "C"

I'm very much a beginner, but I wouldn't want another beginner to see these errors and think they're accurate.
