THANK YOU so much for this!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEE this song!!!

I know he gave us TWO CD's worth of music.......but I play this song OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER.

It's a testament to the fact that some of the most POWERFUL songs can be the most simplistic in lyrics and music stylings......no VAMPS, no COMPLEX chording or unbelievable riffs.

Now that's how you RAZE a HYMN!!!!

My other favorite off of this CD is SURELY....the last song on the first CD.

But I ALPHA and OMEGA just does it for me.

He said it was a hymn from ZIMBABWE.  This really makes me want to explore more songs like this from Africa.  I recently participated in a wedding where the groom was African and they had a full traditional African pre-wedding celebration, and the most enjoyable aspect for me was the way they sung a lot of hymns thorughout the ceremony....same hymns one would find in a traditional hymnal...but they sung them differently.  I'm wondering if the ALPHA  and OMEGA hymn is actually of European origin and transplanted to ZIMBABWE as a result of colonialism.  No matter....they made into something beautiful.

Just to respond to the previous writer, the song was not a European compossition, its an original cut by one Erasmus Mutambira from Zimbabwe. It has however travelled throughout churches over the years and has been loved and treated like a hymn.

I'm from Zimbabwe.

Thanks for this information.  Do you know of any CDs available where I can hear more original HYMNS from ZIMBABWE or other parts of the African continent? :?:

Talk about a song that makes your stomach ball up and your brain (medulla oblongata, cerebellum, cerebum) go off in another world....................

I just don't know what to say about it..........when I hear it and play it over and over and over again, I tune out er'thing around me.

POWERFUL, POWERFUL, POWERFUL!!!
Thank you for the post!

I know this post starting early this year, but now you can get a chord or music book for this entire album at most Christian book stores.

I just got the DVD of this event in South Africa. What a production!!!!
