Hi Darmin! I tell you this site is so awesome it's almost scary. Ev'rybody is truly sending you the help you need. You are in a tough situation no doubt, but I'm reminded of the Israelites who wandered around in the desert unitl a generation passed on, then they were ready to enter the promised land. Now, this may sound harsh, but I'm speaking figuratively, not literally. The dying that needs to occur is that of attitudes and beliefs. (Remember the Hebrews wanted to go back to Egypt). But bruh, keep your eyes on the promised land. Watch your own attitude, never put yourself in the hot seat. Watch what you say and to whom you say it. Don't disdain the old songs( after all many of us was were pumping the boards before Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond was born- 50 ain't that old sir!) Learn how to put your flava on the old songs in a tasteful way. Maybe you can get together with the musician and ask her to share some of the traditional songs that you guys don't sing- put'em together and have a Down Memory Lane Concert. At the concert make sure she recieves appropriate recognition. Boy! I know you'll have them running down the aisle slaaaanging weave everywhere. On the real, your age is a big factor here. You are going to have to show the maturity and wisdom that's beyond your years, but you can. The biggest and toughest lesson that I have had to learn in this game is that you got to take people where they are at in order to take them where you want them to be. You don't have to kiss up, but you will have to compromise and show humility on some things(choos your battles). there's going to be some resistence, but time is on your side. Peace
