Well in Northern Cal, (SF/ Oakland/Bay) the whole musician thing is so cut throat in a sense, and everyone has this new style of playing that I too sometimes feel really like the least of the least, and I feel like I can't really even play... But in the last year, more people are asking for me to play, because folks want that old school church, and the young musicians (as if Im not 24 too) can't play it.  So I have come to this conclusion playhear and LGm ( don't want to type the offical name of the chu'ch) you have a place as a musician, and you may not be able to do what everyone else does, but be confident in what God gives you, and do it to the honor of God.  Use what you have, and let God anoint you for what YOU are supposed to be doing...

Yes, it happens a lot.  The reason I never say I am all that is because I have a humble spirit.  No matter how I progress, I will never consider myself any better than the next.  Now if you want a topic, try "Musicians who think they are all that but are really not".  I know someone who talks a lot of trash about how other musicians play and he himself can't even play a song right.  He has been playing for years now and he still sucks.  See, the devil will make a monkey out of you when you let pride swell your head.  People will tell you how good you sound, but when you leave they will drag you through the mud.
