Hey I got a question  about sab I am kinda new but it seems like everyone has mad respect for sab and looksupto him my question is  is he a profesional?  Sab dont missunderstand me I am not saying like who is this sab it is nothing like that I was just noticing the respect you get. Some one get back at me!  Sab if you see this I hope you understand what I am asking.

I understand, no harm done.

I am just pro-minded, doc. I was blessed to start out t a peforming arts schools with a band director that cared. My love and recently realized purpose in music and teaching has just been on slow cook in the crock pot. My degree iis actually in art but I have been blessed to be around real musicians and students of the craft. Education has always been a must because knowledge is power. These days I feel that I am a better teacher than player (simply because of my high aspirations to be technical player with meaning and purpose always serving the music).

I like to and try to lift those around me... Those that I am playing with... Any that are in earshot. I have not done any tours or anything. Right now, God has me teaching. Getting prepared. I have baggage of self-doubt to get rid of being my own worst critic and a control freak. As I teach I learn without ego. Everything else is waiting for me to get there... It's already written.

I appreciate the good vibes from all of you.  (enuff about me...)

dway, You you have got the goods man! I would love to see you using that left foot more though. Gimme' some hihat doc (...that is something that I working on in my playing) ! Your timing, hands, ears/cymbal choices, snare tuning are all on. The hihat foot is the lost art in the urban rumset player bring it back.

E-R and Dway,

Try the Hazy 500 Glass on the snare side. It is for deep drums and is suppsosed to give a darker dry sound. I think you guys might like it, especially E-R.  Mahagony snares have a tendency to have a high pitch bite that is sometimes annoying... (right E-R and anyone with an Omar Hakim...).

Dway I would like to here a clip of that with your tuning. Just me being a madd scientist and I don't have a mahogany to try it on. (sorry about the typos)

Its funny you mention that head... I was really wondering how that would do on mine. Now, I am gonna have to go buy it! Now after hearing Dways clip, I decided to crank my snare up abit. I had it at 4-5 batter and 5-6 snare side. Now its at 6 batter and 9 snare side. I have a Hazy 300 bottom and I had a Genera HD Dry batter side. Now hearing dways clip, I liked the sound a 1 ply made, but it was a little too bright for me, not much just a little, which is because of the Remo heads. So, I found a Genera Dry laying around, and I made the switch!... what a difference. This snare DOES NOT like 2 ply heads, It feels great! Also, when I changed the heads, I noticed that my snare bed is really wide, and according to the puresound clips you sent me, It will react better with wider snares, So I took off the 16 strand Pure sounds and went back to the 20 strand Pearl Masters...It cut the sympathy vibrations by about 90%! So, I may get a 30 count or 42 count snare wire here in the future.

I just love the way my snare sounds now, but I could definitely add some dark deep warmth to it. and I think that Glass will be it!

God Bless.

I warned you about the HD Dry being too much. A regular G2 Coated or a single-ply Genera coated (Which I am using on my Dave Weckl and LOVING IT! -- once  the head stretches it sounds great.... dark and throaty!)

I'm sorry Sabe. NO but seriously. I thought you had suggested it. I am happy with the Genera dry for now. Genera will be the next.

God Bless.
