Thanks Sk,
You advised me once to get these DVD:  Thomas Lang: Creative Control; and Aronoff's power work our 1 and 2......
Would these DVD's help me in the way the other products you just mentioned would?? (cuz i bought those DVDs just recently)

Thomas Lang's DVD teaches you jsut what the title implies, Creative Control it is next level stuff. You nail that and your thinking will change.

Kenny Aronoff's DVD is all about solid fundamentals. His stickings are straight out of Stick Control. So you will get a lot of the rudimental stickings.

Neither of these teaches you rudiments themselves so you would best need to check out VicFirth.com for those

The two books I mentioned above help me with fills and getting around the kit and understanding how to apply certain rudimental stickings to the kit. As well how to split up a stickings into hand and foot combinations for fills, grooves and overall control.

Another really good book I just came across is Single Surface Learning by Roy Burns. It teaches you how to take basic stickings and rudiments from the practice pad and break them up into patterns for the kit. It comes with a CD and is really good for those just beginning to read/getting back into reading and becoming rudimentally grounded. $29 .

If you don't have Tommy Igoes Groove Essentials DVD you can get it now bundle wit hthe Book w/play along CD for $39. Two hours of music on the CD. The same tracks from the DVD without drums so that you can play along.

I'm gettin' that DVD...

I hope it's worth it. I've seen great musicians put out sub-par instructional vids.

Also check out Pat Patrillo DVD and Rick Latham these are both good rudimental DVD's that you can apply to drumset.

He is an excellent instructor. His is definitley not a beginners vid or for the weak at heart though. Disk 2 has PDfs of all the exercises so that you can print them out.
