D,
As I said elsewhere I have bought the EXB-PCM01 board. It's quite unsatisfactory, in that it does not solve the main problem with pianos on the Triton: lack of samples. To create a good, rich piano/EP sound you have to layer multiple samples, and use them appropriately. For instance, my Yamaha S90 uses three (IIRC) piano samples to create a piano. Only one of them is triggered, depending on the velocity with which you strike the key. The Triton has one sample, so you'll always get the same sound out, only with different volumes.
The EXB-PCM01 gives you a few more samples to play with, but (1.) they are not of great quality and (2.) they are not combined very well.
The other problem that I have with all the Triton piano/EP sound is that they sound
muddy. The bass has no definition, all I hear is a lot of muddy midrange. To improve that I am currently playing with the filters and the envelope generators, but that takes time.
Has anyone played with this?
I have become quite good at playing with the sound synthesis parameters on the Triton ( even though I'd rather be playing it

), so if you have a specific question I might be able to help.
Out.
