Man that dvd is so tight. Tonex played organ drums and keyboard. Robert Sput Searight has been made officially my favorite gospel drummer. He really held it down on that concert. I am going to get clips up I promise!!!!

I got it for Christmas last year.  That DVD is "hot fiya" (and probably one of the more well produced gospel DVDs ever put out).  I especially liked the shout.  It was pretty cool to see clips of his church and him dancing at his dad's funeral (those Apostolics know how to send someone home).

Yea the shout was my favorite part. Tonex did a nice lil drum solo. Robert Sput Searight had some super nice fills on the shout. I also liked when Sput stood up and started playing on the rock song. I didnt know he was standing until they put the camera on him thats how clean he was playing standing up.

i love sheila e in there as well as the special effects tonex adds like that lady's hair on fire towards the end, and the choir in singing in fire and stuff....

It's a must man. No other gospel dvd can touch OUT THE BOX right now.

I agree.  It's probably the hottest DVD out right now (at least, until Tye's "Victory" comes out).

I doubt it. I dont think soundcheck could touch this band on this performance. Man you know Spanky cant hang with the stuff Sput was doing. His rolls were super fast and clean. His foot was fast too. Do you know if he plays a double pedal?

It was all on a single pedal.  He definately did his thing.  As for the Soundcheck thing, I heard that the recording was unreal, but I agree that the Out Of The Box band was sick, along with Peculiar People and the choir (even though they had some...ahem...rhythm issues :-X ;))

Ahhhhhh you really want me to go there ;D.  During the shout, they showed some shots of the local choir that Tonex got to sing with the Peculiar People.  Let's just say...I saw some hand claps that were not on 2 & 4, but were nowhere near 1 & 3. :o  Hallelujah anyhow, I guess... :P

...Sputs' Ride pattern on the "Shout" was ridiculous.  That's my favorite Shout.  Tonex should've "NEVER" got on the kit.  Sput should've had his own Solo.  He had me scratching my head for real. :-\

Yeah, Tonex definately bit off more than he could chew on that.  He should have just stayed on the organ.

I saw it a couple of days ago...

I'm unsure what to think of it really. Musically its DEFINITELY  hot! But visually...... I was like  :-\  ???
I liked the shout too but (I agree with ChannelOne, I guess cause I'm a drummer) I would have preferred Sput to do a solo.

Just my thoughts.

Tonex wasn't all that great on any of the instruments ...

However, the fact that he can play them well enough, and sing the way he does ... had the effect on me, that I'm sure he was going for.

You've got a point there.

Is it just me, or did Tonex look like Cowboy Curtis when he started cutting a step?
