"Let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15)
It is easy to praise God when you are in church on Sundays. Unfortunately, we can't stay there all day, every day. We have to go back to our homes where the atmosphere may not always be as worshipful. The washing machine breaks, you get stuck in traffic, and the phone is ringing off the hook interrupting everything that you are doing and somehow it is not so easy to praise the Lord.
Your circumstances can cause you to have a pity party because of all that is seemingly going wrong. But when you are faced with adversity, instead of focusing on the bad, look for the good. That is when it really becomes a sacrifice of praise! The true test of our faith is when we praise the Lord regardless of our circumstances.
When you are tempted to complain, look for the good and to praise the Lord for all the blessings in your life. Find the good, and thank God, in every situation and He will begin to pour out His blessings and favor upon you like never before, and experience the overcoming life of victory that He has in store just for you.
Father in the name of Jesus, this day I offer praise to you. I thank you, God, for all that I have. I ask that you forgive me when I chose to complain instead of praise, or pray. I thank you for a place to live, a car to drive, children to love, a job, good health... If I had a thousand tongues, I sould not begin to thank you for all that You are and all the blessings bestowed on me. I praise you Father in spite of all that is going on in my life today, regardless of how I may feel, or what I may see, or even experience as the day goes on, I praise You and thank you that I have another day.
I thank you for all that read this Word for Today and pray that as they read they too will begin to Praise & thank you just for who You are. In Jesus name. Amen
