What amp is everyone using??

I feel the same way about Bad Cat.

Their Hot Cat 30 2x10 is about $2600 but it sounds sooooooo sweet.

For now, though, my $450 Peavey and $300 Line 6 will do just fine...

have you heard a cornford dave?? i have a feeling you'd like it. to be honest, the 35watt combo is ONLY 3400, lol, but the head is 3400 and the cab is 17 if you want to go that route.

i'll post a link if you'd like to hear one, and see the most amazing guitarist i've ever heard in my life, bar none.

I use a Peavey Transtube EFX 212 for normal playing and a Peavey Minx bass amp when I want need to play songs that need to be really clean.

Im playing through a fender twin 100 watts w/1/4 power switch been through a lot of amps i love this one it doesnt get lost when next to the leslie or bass amp when im not going through the house . oh how heavy it is but oh how sweet it is all tube

Wow, I thought I already posted this one.  Guess not...

I have a Peavey Classic 30 with Sovteks in it, and a Sheffield speaker (I tinker).  And a 515 head with Sovteks through a 4x12 Laney with Celestions, and a custom 2x12 with 1 sheffield, and one blue marvel (the on eout of the classic 30!).

I'm eventually going to change all the capacitors in both amps to orange-drops to smooth out the sound (de-fizz).

I also have a crate GLX 212. What are your tone settings for the Clean, Rhythm and Solo channels?

I'm using a Crate GFX/65T with my Fender Custom Tele on clean & sweet settings.  Sometimes I'll switch to a full wah effect depending on the song.  I also use it with my Celebrity 12-string and Conn 6-string acoustic with a Dean Markley pickup on those same settings 98% of the time.  I am still looking for another amp and other settings that work well for church services.

Abe, I mostly play on the Clean channel. I set the high about 3/4, the mid about half, and the low about 1/4. On the Rythm channel I set the gain about half way and the other setting around the same as the clean (depending the need of distortion).As far as the Solo channel goes I don't use it much other than at playing around at home. I just turn the volume up on the Rythm channel when I get the rare chance of soloing. I hope this helps, but I would suggest to play around with until u get the tone that u like

Jonzee, We're on the same track with the Crate GLX212. I'm always in the Clean channel (at 50-65-65-75%) and switch to the Rythm channel (at 40-75-00-65-65%) just for the added boost/distortion. I never use the Solo channel because it's too hot for me. The onboard tuner is real handy. One church event I played on, the bass player didn't have a tuner so I told him to just plug in and tune up.  Overall it's a good amp for the money and for church work.
