Help!!!!
« on: June 12, 2006, 12:40:42 PM »
Ok..so I wrote a post earlier about getting a keyboard workstation. I'm planning to get the Roland Fantom Xa(i'm just a beginner so I don't think I need anything expensive). All I want to do is set up an EXTREMELY SIMPLE studio(at least for now). I plan to record my lyrics, and use these tracks if i were to sing my songs at church or elsewhere. Since the workstations have everything in it, I was just going to buy that and one or two mics. I already have a computer. I was wondering, will this work fine or do I need to buy other things. Any help will be appreciated.  :)

Where's my boy Musiqsoul when I need him! LOL! But I take a stab at this.

I guessing that you going to use the PC to put everything together right? If so then you may need a mixer for your mics and board to record through the PC or even can go as getting a digital recorder and run everything through that if you think your computer can't handle it...Roland and Korg has pretty good recorders at affordable prices so check their sites out and see what you come up with...as a matter of fact, don't have to be the exact amount but how much you want to spend to the studio? That could help us a bit without going over your budget.

SINCE YOUR NOT DOING THAT MUCH RECORDING, MY SUGGESTION IS TO PURCHASE A SIMPLE DAW MIXER OR A SIMPLE USB AUDIO INTERFACE.

HERES A COUPLE LOW-PRICED SUGGESTIONS.

THIS IS THE M-AUDIO FAST TRACK USB RECORDING INTERFACE.
ONLY 99.99$

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/MAudio-Fast-Track-USB-Computer-Recording-Interface?sku=703606

THIS IS THE LEXICON ALPHA USB INTERFACE. IT HAS MORE OF A WARMER TONE. AND ALSO HAS 3 INPUTS (1 mic. 2 instru.-1/4")
ONLY 129.99$ (a bit more price but has a better sound than the m-audio)

I HOPE THIS HELPS.
