This topic was inspired by a similar one in the choir/singers forum

....This is the only site i know that gospel musicians can easily interact with each other, and as such it would make sense if everybody introduced themselves to one another. There are so many gosple guitarists that are in the shadows, and it would be a blessing if one day we all could get together and just JAM!!!! So everybody, just be friendly and tell us about yourself and your ministry---i feel this is something we all need to do.....starting with myself.....the one and only ibanezman(too cautious to put out real name) , the lead guitarist for True Word Assembly in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Now, i know im not the only geeeeetar boi from this here south.........

My name is funkStrat_97, AKA Russell. I'm in the Washington DC suburb of Woodbridge, VA where I am the lead guitarist for the Christ Chapel worship team. I would like to be in some sort of a band or have some jam sessions on a monthly basis. But anyone interested in hooking up in the DC area please let me know. I also moderate a Christian musician group on Yahoo! that also seeks to get musicains togeather.

I'm David (or Dave...whatever) and am the music pastor at Love of Christ Church in Newark, DE.
I pretty much grew up around here, moved away to Los Angeles for almost 20 years, and then came back a couple years ago following a call from the Lord to a new ministry.
I just want to worship and serve the Lord Jesus. Knowing that He inhabits the praises of His people, I want anyone who I come in contact with to not see me but to see Christ Jesus and His glory through my unhindered worship; that they'd make a life-changing choice to follow Him.
Make me your instrument of praise, Oh God.

Haven't been here for a while. This is Ro (Rohan)
Shout out to GDave and Uriah...inspiration that lead me to grow stronger in my guitar playing. I am from Toronto Canada.
Been playing guitar for about 8 months now ( a love that was reborn as I used to play as a child) . The pic attached to my name is the guitar i purchased as I wanted to take my playing seriously.
Its a Ovation Tangent. Beautiful guitar and each week I'm learning more. I also own an old Colt electric guitar from youngin days and working with different sounds.

Blessings to this forum for allowing the sharing of musical talent globally.

I haven't really played for church as of yet but with practice and the support from everyone here , I'm hoping to do that in the near future.
Currently I play to accompany the songs i write. I love neo soul, r&b and traditional gospel sounds.

sorry , thats GTRDAVE... You oringally assisted me with Lord You Are Good by Isreal (full audio) ... I played that at church for a practice...other musicians were very impressed...we haven't had a guitarist in church for over 15years... But its a new season !!!

Greetings all,

I am Trackman (Dwayne). Out here in the Midwestern town of Flint Michigan. I am currently the only guitar player at my church. I've been playing for about 16 months now and the Lord is moving and guiding me every day towards what he wants from the guitar ministry he's started in my life. I love playing and am constantly trying to learn about this ministry. It has really opened my spirit to a new and different level of worship that can be brought about by playing in his service.

My axe of choice (until I can afford differently), is the Epiphone SG. My amp is a crate XT120 2x12. I use a Digitech GNX3 as my effects processor.

If there is anyone in the Flint/Detroit/Lansing MI area that wants to jam, write me up!!!

My wife's mom's side of the family has a reunion every year near Kalamazoo/Portage.
We drove out last year and might (very iffy might) go again this year.
If we do I'll let you know and see if we can drive east a little bit to stop by.

Hey Everyone, I'm dieogo (Floyd). I'm from Toledo Ohio but now live in Spartanburg Sc. (1hr 15min from Charlotte Nc and 3hrs from Atlanta) I've been teaching myself to play for almost two years. I play at Greater St. James Temple in Inman, SC. There is two of us but the 2nd player doesn't play very much. I play a Fender Deluxe on a Line 6 Spider 210 Combo Amp. i'm lilBB (Thomas) from and residing in Memphis, TN. been playin about 4 years self taught. member of Testament of Hope Community Baptist Church where i play with my mother (organ and keyboard) and a drummer. when i first played in my church a couple of years ago, my whole body was shaking so much that i could barely hit the notes! now, they call me "lilBB" hence the name. thank God for giving me the ability to play guitar.

I've played with a couple of groups here in memphis, Rodney Miller and New Vessel and Stevenson Clark and the Friends. because of time commitments, I now only play for my church.

Shout out to Derrick Dean, Garrett Parker, and Johnathan - great musicians and even greater people.

Hey brothers and sisters, I'm Shaun. I live in Illinois, but do most of my work in the St. Louis area. Been playin' for a loooooooooooong time, and playing and teaching is all I do.

My church home is Friendly Temple. We released an album earlier this year, so you can hear me givin' the Lord some praise on that project.

I'll be on the road beginning tomorrow with three groups from the mid-west; True Spirit, The Oscar Williams group, and Praiz! Ya'll pray for me because I just started learning all of their music Monday

Hi Dudes,

I'm Guitar Grover . Been playing a long time. I'm in the Atlanta area. I play in a gospel band where we play quartet music, praise and worship, and some jazz style gospel music. My main weapon of choice is the Fender Tele. I also have a Gibson SG and a Gibson Thunderbird. My amp is a Mesa Tube Amp and the only effects I have is a MRX dyno-Comp box. My church home is Zion Baptist Church in Marietta GA. but I play special afternoon programs for several churches around the area. Lately I've been playing alot of jazz stuff and learning many new nice chords and how to used them....expanding my playing ability by leaps and bounds.

I haven't found anybody real close that has the time to take me in as a student. So I have enrolled myself into LGMU (Learn Gospel Music University). LGMU is an awsome school, with awsome instructors: and the atmosphere is just heavenly.

This is Dafretboy a.k.a. Elvin. I'm from Raeford, N. Carolina.
I'm the lead guitarist for First Missionary Baptist church in Southern Pines where we play traditional, contemporary,and funk gospel.
I also play in a gospel quartet called " Minister Curly Morrison and 4- Real" out of Laurinburg N.C.
I've been playing for 4 yrs. I studied classical guitar and have an associates in music.
I play the Ibanez as73, Fender strat, and Traditional classical made by sea gull.
My amps are a Fender Cyber Twin, beringer 210 , Peavey Envoy.
My Toys are he line 6 pod 2.0, dunlop cry baby, and bedsco volume pedal.
I have opened up for and met The Canton spirituals, slim and the supreme angels and darrell mcfaddon and the disiples.

Hey, y'all.

Real name's Jeremy (or Jay to my family & friends).

I've been playing for about 14 years (since I was 12 or so), and play a Peavey Wolfgang, Fender AmStd Tele, a couple Deans, and a couple beaters that have been refinished, frankensteined, etc. through a Classic 30 or a 5150.

I like to play a lot of slide stuff, but don't get to do so much in church (not bluesy enough).

I go to Greater Life Assembly here in Hillsboro Ohio (about 1 hour west of Cincinnati).

Restaurant manager; married; one daughter, 9 months old.

Played in a classic rock band for about 5 years before I came back to the Lord. Been playing in the church for about 3-4 years.

Influences are Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, Clapton, SRV etc...

Still looking for that Christian band that lights my fire, though (basically a saved Allman Brothers--any suggestions?) Until then, guess I'll keep writing my own (demo in the works).

Hey Y'all--
My name's Tim. I live in Pensacola, Florida. Been playing for 40+ years (my wife says "After 40 years, you'd think you'd learn how to play that thing." I tell her "I'm workin' on it."

) I play a 1981 Gibson ES-347 (bought new).

I play in several different churches locally, but my main passion is my prison ministries. I play and preach at Holman Prison in Atmore, Alabama (Home of Alabama's Death House) as well as the Escambia County Jail here in Pensacola.

I love singin' praises to the Lord, and He has blessed me abundantly!!! I have also received many songs from the Holy Ghost. Some of those songs have been of the Blues Genre (the prisoners love 'em). So to the above poster, I would say 'You can play the blues and still praise the Lord with them'.

May our Lord and Saviour, Jesus, bless all y'all real good.
