Detroit Tigers are World Series bound!
« on: October 14, 2006, 08:02:46 PM »
Hello! Well, the 2006 Detroit Tigers are headed to the World Series!  :D

This makes this former Detroiter living in Chicago very happy. What's cool is - the Tigers won in 1968 (when I was born), won again in 1984 (when I was in high school) and now making it to the World Series again in 2006 (I'm 38 now). I never imagine seeing a hometown team make it to the championship 3 times in 1 lifetime.  :). Here in Chicago, it took the White Sox over 80 years to win the World Series! Well, it's Detroit turn now.

Keep on practicing! Keep on playing!

Represent !!

My 11 y/o son just took an interest in baseball this past year.  I'm happy to see him get to enjoy what I enjoyed growing up.
I am what God says I am, no less and no more.

I'm one of the few that can remember that series,or at least parts of it. I was ten years old and can remember my teacher had a tv in the classroom so we could all watch the game,is that cool or what?I lived in Zeeland,Mich. at the time, been a Tiger fan all my life. Haven't been in the state since 1971,but have always kept up with the Tigers. Now if we can get the Lions going. :'(
