thats right. pratice your scales and develop a steady practice routine. also what ever you can't play fast practice it slow to get your fingering down. then speed it up as you begin to get the feel of it. I would also advise you to practice every using the circle of 4ths or the circle of 5ths. this will help you build technique and you won't limit yourself to one key. hope that helps.

I guess the practice thing goes without saying....Specifically though, you should probably work on finger strength if your fingers aren't as fast as you'd like. You probably find that you have an easy time fingering with your thumb, index, and middle fingers, especially in the right hand. To gain strength in your other fingers, specifically your 4th and 5th fingers on both hands, I suggest the Hanon exercises. You can find them free at www.sheetmusicarchive.com Simply look under the name Hanon, and the publication is called virtuose pianist. The key is to practice the exercises slowly until you can play them hands together. Then, slowly speed up until you can handle any of them at about 108 beats per minute. It is very tedious, but such is the study of a musician. You won't be handling the keyboard up and down at a quick speed right away, but you will immediately see improvement in your finger dexterity and consonance of both hands together. I should also add, the Hanon exercises are really only effective when practiced with weighted keys (read: on a piano).
Hope this helps

Practice with the lights off...  This sounds crazy!  However, it develops your ear...  When a person goes blind the human body increases other factors to off-set the condition...  Therefore, train your mind... with the lights off...  Yes, this sounds crazy however, once that ear kicks in...  Man, you can play anything and a lot faster...  Because you are not thinking about it...just making it happen

Just go over the same scale for a week then switch to another scale until you got the hang of it                                                                                                                                   friend,                                                                                                            cckdl

My mistake, that address should be www.sheetmusicarchive.NET
You should find the Hanon there (both books).
