I use a "Chad Smith" Signature which can do any application and I have a Pearl "steel" Picolo as well.

i have a pacific dw 6 x 12 that was 275 i have a double ply aqaurian head on it...im about to pick up a custom pearl 7 x 13 $ 700..it is worth it

I have a 5x14 inch Pearl snare with a clear pinstripe head on top and a 10" ring in the center of the pinstripe head. It costs about $159.00

My main snare is a Pearl  3x13 maple shell sorprano snare.  I bought it back in 1993 for about $190.  It's been very good to me.  It's kinda given me a signature sound.  My other snare is an old aluminum shell Slingerland 5x14 that was given to me.  Back in the day.  I was using the Pearl  6x14 steel shell free floating sanre that came with my kit, but I sold it.  I actually wish I still had that snare.  I paln on getting a coule of more snares in the future.  I want a 6 to 8 ply 5x14 maple snare.  Plus I plan to add a 4x10 auxilary snare to my setup.  I just have to be in a playing situation where I would actually need it before I purchase it.  Also I may try an exotic wood snare.  I have to research the tones that the woods produce.

Ive had a gang of snares ranging from 159 to 1050....Right now Im loving the Pearl Joey Jordison 13/6 and my Custom MOE Maple 13/5.

I'm bout to get my hands on one of those Joey snare. But I have a Gretch 14x8 (phat as h e double hockeysticks...LORD forgive me!) it cost me $324! (Even though it's not mine and it's my god brothers, I still claim these last two snares), a 14x5 1/2 Slingerland Radio King(1 of the few built) it costs $1700, he got it for $200 and his "THE" Gretch Cintenial Snare drum (snare drum that goes to the 100 year celebration drum kit), list price 3 grand, what he paid........NOT A DIME!!! BECAUSE SOME DIMWITTED PERSON DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY HAD AND PUT IT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS GARBAGE AND HE FOUND IT!! THAT MAKES ME SO MAD! WHY DID HE HAVE TO FIND IT? WHY COULDN'T I FIND IT?.......but it's all good.

An 8x13 custom made snare by The Modern Drum Shop in NYC. I paid $325.

I have these: 3.5" x 14" Bauer steel Pic Prototype cost: priceless it the only one in the world.
                                  DW 6" X 12" maple cost: I only paid $150 for it
                                  5.5" X 14" Arbiter advanced tuning maple snare cost: $650
                                  and the snare that came with my  PDP Kit.
                             
My next move will be a signature snare.

IM playin a 14"x 7" YAMAHA Birch Absolute(hottest snare ever) $475, 14"x 6.5" Pearl brass free-floater, and 2 custom snares i made myslef(6.5x13 and 6.25x14). The YAMAHA is my main. lots of bite and has low-end. If u can afford it i suggest u get it.

I have:   sonor designer x ray 13x6, sonor designer maple light 14x8, sonor artist birch 12x5, sonorlite birch 14x7.25, yamaha akira jimbo, pearl reference cast steel 14x5, 14x5.5 craviotto lake superior...

all lovely!
